Hey Jess! Hope you're having a great week! Textbook Reading I am so glad the chapter was scanned into Blackboard, because I am still waiting for my book to come in! This chapter was a great refresher before doing this assignment! Going through the questions, I did not actually solve each problem, but it has been a while since I did this kind of math so it was good to review. What I found very interesting was page 69, with the Data Collection standards listed. It was so interesting to me how intricate the standards were, even from Kindergarten. Expecting students to formulate their own questions at that age is a great introduction to what they will need to do further on in school, but seems really young to start! What do you think? Question: Explain the three measures of central tendency, and how teachers can help children to better understand these measures. Central tendency is a way to determine the typical or centered location of the data collected. The three measures u...

Categorical Data Sort and Analysis Hey Jess! I was pretty surprised when opening the list of people to sort. I'm sure you noticed that we were the only two who put entertainers rather than people who made a significant impact in the world through politics, royalty, or religion! After sorting them into those groups, I also thought it would be interesting to see how many of these well-known people are still alive today. To total it up, 13 people listed a person who is deceased and 10 of us put people who were still alive. I just thought that would be an interesting point to look at since we could choose either way. Our class seems to be inspired by peo...

Welcome to my Education 325 blog! My name is Megan Minor and I live in Jacksonville, North Carolina with my husband. My parents and in-laws live in North Georgia, where we are both from. I moved to Jacksonville in April of 2016 and have been commuting to UNCW ever since I transferred that Fall! This will be my first semester taking all extension classes. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, going hiking, reading, and of course watching Netflix. I have two puppies and a cat who take up a good bit of my attention, and we are expecting our first baby this summer. Something that I would consider unique is that I own an Etsy shop which takes up a good bit of my free time! It is a super fun and exciting job and I love that I can work from home. I have attached a few photos of my me and my husband, our dogs Georgia and Harley, and our cat Don! When it comes to math, I always liked it a lot in school. One of the best teachers I ever had was my 6th grade math teacher...
